BET Awards 2017: Full List Of Winner Sgt
The annual BET Awards, now in their 17th year, “recognizes the triumphs and successes of artists, entertainers, and athletes in a variety of categories,” according to the network. Most honors are given out for music, and as such, Beyonce is this year’s top nominee. The superstar, who will not be in attendance due to the recent birth of her twins, scored seven nominations.
That includes Album of the Year for Lemonade, a category that also features records from sister Solange, J.Cole, Bruno Mars and this year’s Humanitarian Award recipient, Chance The RaMars is the second-most nominated star of the night, with nods for Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, Video of the Year, Video Director of the Year and the fan-voted Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award.
Awards will also be handed out for acting, and Moonlight could score another Best Movie win months after getting the top prize at the Academy Awards. And less than two weeks after winning the NBA championship, Steph Curry could be named Sportsman of the Year. Other nominees across the 21 categories include Drake, The Weeknd, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Gabrielle Union, Taraji P. Henson, Denzel Washington, Donald Glover, Serena Williams and LeBron James.
